A Fond Farewell · Sep 5 by Kurt Peterson

As Blue Ridge Mountain Sports proudly celebrates 35 years of business here in the heart of our beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, it is with a bit of sadness that we say goodbye to one of the early trendsetters and originators of this company. After 34 faithful years with Blue Ridge, Stephen Nauss is setting off for his next great life adventure—retirement!

In typical Blue Ridge style, we helped him on his way by throwing him a party with plenty of perfectly-grilled mini-hamburgers—aka: sliders (thanks Emi-lu), veggie burgers, potato salad, and a few local brews. And what party would be complete without the need to pull out the Bone Rattler? The only thing Bettie was missing was a bowler hat . . .

Everyone at Blue Ridge wishes Steve the best and will continue, I’m sure, to see him peaking his head in from time to time.

Bon voyage, Steve!!!

And as we say goodbye to Steve, we also welcome Jeff Smith’s role as sole owner and the man behind the wheel (or on the mound). I know I speak for everyone at Blue Ridge when I say we eagerly look towards the horizon and the great places Blue Ridge is destined to head.
