We’re very proud to announce a new store opening in Warrenton, VA—just 30 minutes from the Washington, DC beltway.
It’s hard to put into words how happy we are to be serving the communities of northern Virginia. What was a mere idea a few short months ago is now a reality, and it took a lot of hard work, time, and energy, but within a very short amount of time we had a fully-functioning store.
The 7,000 sq ft location includes a variety of environmentally-conscious and sustainable design features including super energy-efficient lighting, recycled and recyclable carpeting and flooring, low VOC wall finishes and build-out materials made from recycled lumber and metal. Our Warrenton location is the prototype for even greener Blue Ridge Mountain Sports stores now and into the future.
“Since 1973 we have always worked hard to be a green company,” said owner and president, Jeff Smith. “When we developed our previous store designs, we were on the cutting edge of what was then considered green building practices. But now, I am thrilled with all the new options available for a sustainable retail environment. These design concepts better represent what Blue Ridge Mountain Sports is at our core. We continually strive to be better stewards of our environment while encouraging our customers to not only get out and play in our natural areas, but also to protect them. We hope it will be a model for others to follow.”
