All you Richmond women who like to run (or would like to turn over a new leaf), mark your calendars for Saturday, May 4th. Coming to Pocahontas State Park is Richmond’s first annual Run Like a Girl 8k women’s only Trail Race sponsored by Montrail and Blue Ridge Mountain Sports.

An 8k Trail Run bound for greatness.

A race for absolute beginners and veteran runners alike, Run Like a Girl is designed to encourage women of all ages and activity levels to get out and experience a more active lifestyle.

Moreover, proceeds benefit the HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation. This non-profit organization’s mission is to stop the loss of mothers, daughters, sisters, grandmothers, aunts, wives, partners and girlfriends from ovarian cancer through empowering:

  • Women to take control of their health
  • Research Scientists to find new directions in early detection, treatment and prevention
  • Communities to provide support
